Non-Diastatic Malt Extract
(Liquid Extracts including Barley, Wheat and Oat Syrups)


British DiaMalt celebrated its centenary on 27th January 2009 . The company has been manufacturing and supplying the Worldwide food and beverage industry with premium malt products for 100 years and has a liquid non-diastatic malt extract and cereal syrup facility which produces large volumes of product 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  As we also have a unique diastatic malt extract plant, our production of non-diastatic malt extracts, barley syrup, oat extract and wheat extract is uninterupted.

We manufacture an extensive range of liquid malt extracts and cereal syrups for a variety of applications including as a food ingredient. Malt extracts are made from the aqueous extraction of sound malted barley and are supplied as 80-82% solids viscous liquids. They have no enzyme activity. The British DiaMalt range of malt extracts vary in flavour and colour from light to dark malt extract. Our malt extract range is available in dried powder form.

Diastatic Malt Extract Range.

Liquid malts are made from the aqueous extraction of sound unmalted barley and malted barley and supplied as viscous 80-82% solid liquids. Liquid malts are produced to a similar colour range as malt extracts but offer a less expensive source of malt flavourings. We also offer wheat syrup and oat syrup in our product range.

If you have a very small requirement, our
John Bull Bulldog Blends Canned Malt Extract range includes Light, Amber & Dark Malt Extract (non-diastatic, unhopped) and Wheat Syrup, in a 1.6Kg can. This is range is available from Beer & Wine Making Specialist Retailers.

Below is an example of some of our non-diastatic malt extracts and cereal syrups. The figures given represent a typical analysis. Variations to colour, solids, pH and Diastatic Power can be made to suit customer requirements. For example, our solids contents for the UK market is 80+/- 1%, for warmer climates this figure is increased to 81 +/- 1%.
